Council is seeking community and stakeholder feedback on the Draft Wallace Park Flying-fox Management Plan.
Council recognises the need to support impacted communities while also conserving flying-foxes and the critical ecological services they provide. The objectives of the Management Plan are to expand upon current management strategies aimed at mitigating impacts from flying-foxes on residents, park users and other stakeholders associated with the Wallace Park flying-fox camp.
For context, the site-specific Management Plan should be read in conjunction with Council’s recently developed Flying-fox Statement of Management Intent (SoMI) - view document on the right of this page.
The purpose of the SoMI is to articulate Council’s approach to flying-fox management across Noosa. This document provides guidance to staff, contractors, and private landholders on the management of flying-foxes under Commonwealth, state and local government environmental policy.
Your feedback on the Draft Wallace Park Flying-fox Management Plan
Your feedback is important to determine if the proposed management approaches within the Draft Wallace Park Flying-fox Management Plan meet your individual circumstances, values and or concerns.
After reading the Management Plan (in combination with the SoMI), Council encourages and welcomes all stakeholders to provide feedback on the Draft Wallace Park Flying-fox Management Plan by completing the survey below.
