Code testing
The Town of Newmarket is set to begin work on updating its Water and Wastewater Comprehensive Plan (formerly known as the master plan) to ensure its water and wastewater services (sewers, watermains and pumping stations) can continue to meet current and future demands. A review and analysis of the Town’s water and wastewater services will result in a Comprehensive Plan that will service projected growth scenarios through 2051. We have retained the consulting firm TY Lin to assist with this work.
About the project
This Comprehensive Plan Update will build upon the existing Water and Wastewater Master Plan (March 2017), and will consider all lands designated for development, plus an allowance to accommodate intensification within the existing development limits as established by the Town, York Region and the Provincial Growth Plan.
The Comprehensive plan will also identify preferred solution(s) that will be determined based on engineering requirements, environmental considerations (natural, social, economic), public input and information gathered during the study, all in accordance with the Environmental Assessment Act and the Master Plan Class Environmental Assessment.
Attend an upcoming Public Meeting to learn more about the project!
Community Engagement is an important part of the process and we welcome residents and businesses to get involved by attending the first Virtual Public Consultation Centre (PCC) to learn more about the study and provide your feedback!
